![]() ![]() Properly fitted with good long range guns and Laser Turrets (you can arm one with two particle cannons, & 2 sidewinder missiles) it'll run most early game escort missions by itself. A good early escort mission flagship, it only offers 6 extra bunks which is as good as either Raven or headhunter (you can get 10 with a faster more maneuverable Scout for about 1/3 of the money) ![]() More freight capacity than a Headhunter, more durable than a Raven, albeit considerably slower than either. (Mining/dangerous cargo vs combat)įor my money, the jack of all trades versatile light warship is the modified Argosy. ![]() Raven's also have 30% more hull and shield points.īoth frames are specialists rather than generalists, imo just specialized for different things. In a straight-up fight, my best Raven build would eat my best headhunter build in almost no time flat. Headhunters are better for mining asteroids and for running frontier cargo missions because of the larger cargo space. With 25% more engine capacity, and only 10% more starting mass, a properly rigged Raven can carry all the same engines as a headhunter plus either a reverse engine or an afterburner. Raven's also have an oversize engine capacity for a small warship, so they can be extremely fast if you're willing to keep the armament they come with (4 heavy lasers, matching the maximum armament level of a headhunter). Headhunter has 60 tons of weapon capacity, and the Raven has 100 (enough for four plasma (or three particle) cannons if you can cool them. I quickly got a Blackbird and am going to grind a bit more to buy a ship that can kick some ass.Ī raven has smaller cargo (30 vs 50), zero turret mounts to a headhunter's one, and four frontal weapon mounts as opposed to the headhunters two. Though it looks similar to Nova - the combat and powerlevels between classes I felt are quite significant/different and I got my ass handed to me if the pirate had a slightly better class or attacked in groups (which was almost all the time). I was incredibly stubborn waiting for responses and got a Raven and regretted it pretty much immediately. Sorry guys.Įdit II: Thanks for all the great tips guys! I There are really too many ships to choose from. The ship I loved doing this in Nova was the modified Starbridge (hunting but also with decent cargo and customization) - and I was wondering what the equivalent was in Endless Sky.Īfter a bit of googling the candidates are the Headhunter, Raven and Blackbird.Īnybody have suggestions which one would be best or perhaps another? Price range of up to 5 mil.Įdit: Yeah I now see that the question in the title is not really accurate. Now I have gotten a bit tired doing cargo runs and being a glorified bus driver - and wanted to delve a bit more in the combat and hunt some pirates. I started not that long ago and went from the Shuttle to the Bounder. Now however the game is a lot better and I am really enjoying it. I knew Endless Sky existed and I tried it many years ago, but it didn't stick.
